Support Worker Guide
At Maya Support Services, our support workers are the heart of what we do. This guide outlines the best practices and ethical standards expected of our team to ensure the highest quality of care for our participants.
Best Practices
Punctuality & Reliability
Arrive on time for every shift. If you are running late or cannot make it, communicate immediately. Consistency builds trust with our participants.
Person-Centered Care
Always put the participant's needs, preferences, and goals first. Listen actively and respect their choices in how they receive support.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Protect the personal information of participants. Never share details about their care or private life with anyone unauthorized.
Clear Communication
Use respectful and clear language. Ensure the participant understands you, and always document your shift notes accurately and promptly.
NDIS Code of Conduct
All support workers must adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct. It sets out the expectations for safe and ethical service delivery.
